The Van Goat Magazine is student-led and focused on all forms of visual and literary arts. It is now is open for new members. The aim is to showcase talent and creativity through sharing student, staff, parent, and teacher work across our school community. We encourage inclusivity by accepting submissions at all skill levels, with the option for anonymous contributions.
To make this happen, we are searching for motivated and enthusiastic students from Year 10, 11, 12 and 13 to join the magazine team.
By being part of the team, you can take part in roles such as:
- Creating constant submissions, posters and inspiration boards (for the Visual Arts, Photography, and Literature sectors)
- Marketing (Promoting the magazine, running our Instagram and TikTok, creating entertaining videos/interviewing students and encouraging submissions)
- Editor (Helping develop the magazine, organizing submissions, shaping the layout, and bringing the final issue together) not a guaranteed position
- All students within the team will take part in deciding concepts, visual themes, and organizing creative activities with the wider school community.
These roles will not be permanent. It is possible to move around and experiment with different sectors.
The link below allows you to get an idea of what our magazine looks like (through our previous releases), along with the profile link to our Instagram (@vangoatmagazine)
Join the team, and help us continue this platform we created last year to showcase the talent of young artists. This project can count as an experience in your Service As Action for MYP, and CAS for DP.
Meetings will take place every week, starting in two weeks (due to building changes).
We will announce the weekday and room to those who signed up as soon as possible.
If you are interested, complete the Van Goat Magazine club registration form, or contact Liese Wichert or Uma Dellekamp directly, if you have any doubts or concerns.
