“We are delighted to present Art for Inclusion with CerciOeiras— a new creativity and service project that OIS is developing in partnership with CerciOeiras, an organisation dedicated to defending the rights and promoting the inclusion of young people with neurodivergence and disabilities.
Once a week, on Wednesdays during the last school period from 14:45, a group of up to 8 students (Years 12 and Year 10) will travel to CerciOeiras to support its artistic workshops. Our students will help with activities such as creating art from recycled materials and capsules, painting cloth bags and crafting products, while also helping to prepare the works made by the institution’s clients for future sale. More than simply helping, this is about connecting: nurturing empathy, individual expression and a more inclusive community, while students gain a real, hands-on CAS experience / Service as Action.
Your initial commitment should be for one term, but it is renewable whenever both sides feel it continues to be a positive experience.
If this sounds like a project you would find meaningful and you would like to get involved, we warmly invite you to join.
If you would like more information, contact Denise Semedah. — we will be glad to answer any questions.”
